The First and the Now

While reading Intro to Part 4 of our textbook, Multiple things became interesting.  While reading "The Emergence of Humankind" I found the concept of operating on a timescale different that the universal timeline that most Darwinist operate.  It was fascinating to read about the different species Homosapiens that emerged from southern and Eastern Africa.

I also found it interesting to read about the evolution of simple tools that lead to the revolution of farming and herding. I always wondered what the first humans ate. It was captivating to read about their different diets that depended on the type of soil, weather, and domestication of animals.

The more I read about the evolution of our civilizations, the more I realize how cool the Mayans, Aztecs, and Toltecs were. They were way ahead of their times with their sophisticated tools and complex societies. Reading about the third wave of civilization, I became intrigued about the silk roads of Eurasia and the trading practices. It is fascinating how fast and how much we have evolved in some areas and in other we are still doing the same.

Lastly, Part 4. Early modern Era... Are we in the old modern Era.. Post modern Era.. How can we call something modern that is no longer modern? The wide spread of religion and beliefs its always so interesting to me. For a time where snapchat and facebook didn't exist, word did travel far.
